Your “Need-To-Know” Update Information for DAT-MAIL v5.08.11.02

Beginning in version 5.08.11.02 of DAT-MAIL…

1) You will have the ability to import 08-2 file versions of Mail.dat.

2) You will continue to have the ability to import 07-1 and 08-1 files if your presort software is still producing in those formats.

a. The older files that are imported will be converted to 08-2 during the import process.

b. Only files produced in the 08-2 format will receive Validation upon import.

3) Any older files sitting in your Imported Job List will be converted to 08-2 upon selection of that file for opening/editing. The time involved with processing the conversion on previously imported files can be extensive so please be aware and plan ahead as much as possible.

a. For our customers who do not maintain a large amount of files in their Job List, you may opt to use our File Utilities option to convert all of your previously imported 07-1 and 08-1 files to 08-2. Ideally, you might select this “run” option during off hours. From the Utilities menu, select File Utilities then Convert all 07-1 & 08-1 files to 08-2.

4) There is a setup option in DAT-MAIL at the Export/Archive tab named “Export to prior Mail.dat version” that can be activated which will force all exports to use the 08-1 format.

5) We have opened our program ability to support PostalOne! Wizard Web Services. Currently, there is a limit to the statement types that can be successfully uploaded. Please review our Knowledge Base Answer https://s3.parature.com/ics/km/kmRefEdit.asp?questionID=477 that provides what is/is not supported today. Additionally, there is a video available on our web site http://www.windowbook.com/Videos/Player/tabid/603/VideoId/11/PostalOne.aspx that gives an overview of how the program currently functions.
