'Service barcode' for Priority Mail® Open and Distribute (PMOD)

Effective May 12, 2008 mailers will be required to use a unique 'Service barcode' on the address labels instead of Delivery Confirmation to verify arrival of PMOD containers at the destination facility. In addition, the phrase, "USPS SCAN ON ARRIVAL," will need to be printed above the barcode.

The 'Service barcode' is designed to provide mailers better visibility while enabling the postal service to monitor service performance.

Postal Package Partner (PPP) will be supporting PMOD rule changes and we anticipate the program update to be available by May 1st, which will also include the Rate Case changes effective May 12th.

Certification Process
All mailers including those who have already obtained a confirmation certification must acquire a new PMOD Certification by filling 5052 form, submitting Test File with 1000 records, and printing 100 Test Labels.
