Postal Package Partner Receives MAC and MAC GOLD Certification from USPS

The U.S. Postal Service has certified Postal Package Partner software for Cycle J of the MAC™ and MAC Gold certification processes. It complies with the manifest regulations set forth in Issue 300 of the DMM and Publication 401, Guide to the Manifest Mailing System.

About MAC Approval

MAC is a certification process designed in cooperation with the mailing industry to evaluate USPS manifest mailing products manufactured by vendors. MAC determines whether manifest mailing software accurately lists and calculates postage for identical and/or nonidentical weight permit imprint mailpieces according to the standards of the Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®), the International Mail Manual, and Publication 401, Guide to the Manifest Mailing System.

The MAC Gold certification program is designed to get shippers up and running with the USPS very quickly. A MAC Gold system is pre-approved as a complete USPS shipping solution (including scales, printers and the manifest software together). The scope of MAC Gold is focused on the manifest system’s ability to correctly process Priority Mail, First-Class Mail, and Parcel Post (all single-piece rate) with the integrated barcode and USPS Confirmation (Delivery or Signature) Services. MAC Gold tests the ability of the manifest system to produce postage and fees as well as quality documentation.
