Mail.dat files are created during the presort process by a presort software that processes name and address lists. They consist of data elements in a readily usable and commonly understandable format, representing any conceivable variable that might be present in any USPS or Canada Post mailing. The mailing facility can use a supplied Mail.dat file to plan production and transportation for a single mailing or several Mail.dat files from multiple providers can be considered simultaneously for co-loading and distribution efficiencies.

Utilizing Mail.dat gives you the ability to facilitate efficient and process-enhancing communications. By sharing comprehensive data readily, recipients and /or end-users can accept data, interpret the data for sophisticated reporting and enhanced transportation planning.
