PostalOne Release 27 and FAST Release 17.0

The United States Postal Service (USPS) will deploy PostalOne! Release 27 and FAST Release 17.0 on Sunday, June 26, 2011. These updates are primarily to support the new postage statements, effective on June 26, 2011.

PostalOne! Release 27 for Mailers

The USPS plans to have PostalOne! updated to Release 27 for production by 8:00 CDT am June 26, 2011. During the update, PostalOne! for production will be unavailable from 9 p.m. CDT on June 25, 2011, through 8 a.m. CDT on June 26, 2011. Mailers should be prepared to download the updated MDR Client software for production from the Business Customer Gateway once it becomes available on June 26. Mailers will need to use this updated software in order to successfully transmit files to PostalOne! Mailers who use TEM testing should also download the updated MDR Client software for TEM from the Business Customer Gateway, but this will not be available until after 12 noon CDT on Monday, June 27, 2011. PostalOne! TEM will be unavailable on Monday, June 27, 2011, from 4 a.m. CDT through 12 Noon CDT.

It is important to note that the USPS is changing postage statements only for the classes of mail undergoing changes. This includes Form 3600-FCM for First-Class Mail, Form 3602-R for Standard Mail regular rates, and Form 3602-N for Standard Mail Nonprofit rates. These postage statements will have a date at the bottom of the forms reflecting "June 2011." All other postage statements will continue to have the date at the bottom of the forms reflecting "April 2011."

USPS FAST Release 17.0 for Mailing

The USPS will also be updating Facility Access and Tracking System (FAST) to release 17.0 for production by 8:00 CDT am June 26, 2011. During the update, FAST for production will be unavailable June 26, 2011 from 4 a.m. CDT through 8 a.m. CDT. FAST for TEM will also be getting an update and will be unavailable on Monday, June 27, 2011, from 8 a.m. CDT through 12 Noon CDT. Anyone who uses FAST for drop ship appointments should be prepared to download the new updated software from the Business Customer Gateway as soon as it becomes available, both for production and for TEM as applicable.

Window Book Software updates (available for download)

Window Book's DAT-MAIL™ and Postal Package Partner™ (PPP) software solutions have already been updated to accommodate the June 26, 2011 postal changes. Clients should download these new software updates BEFORE June 26, 2011. The postage statement changes are driven by the mailing date, so no issues will arise if you download the updates before the implementation date of June 26, 2011. Any First-Class or Standard Mail statements generated with a mailing date prior to June 26 will be the current postage statements and any statements generated with a mailing date of June 26 or after will be the new postage statements (please refer to the note on the PostalOne! Release 27 above). We highly encourage clients to update their software prior to the implementation date, just to insure that any possible installation or other issues will not impact production on the implementation date. The updated versions of DAT-MAIL 5.11.15.02 and PPP 4.13.01.14 are available for download to active subscribers and those with active trial codes on our web site at http://www.windowbook.com/Support/SoftwareUpdates.aspx.
