| -Mail Units: We now support the creation of 'Mail Units' which will control our statement generation process and will also soon come with their own series of reports. A Mail Unit is defined as a group of containers (pallets, trays or sacks) that will fit on a single trailer, are of the same mail class, are going to the same entry point and are being paid by the same method. This is useful for mailers that process very large mailings where there frequently is too much mail going to the same entry point to fit on a single trailer. The mail unit concept allows us to look at the mail and break up the mailings by trailer before we ever assign trailer numbers. In the DAT-MAIL setup program you can set a default weight that is used to create a mail unit, typically 30,000-35,000 lbs. When statements are generated, separate statement entries and 8125s are generated for each mail unit. |
